Asterolepis is a Devonian age placoderm in the group Antiarchi. This specimen along with the other Asterolepis plates that we have prepared are to be used to scientifically describe a potential new species of this genus.

This fish made a living eating detritus from the seabed, protected from attacks from above by its dermal armour.
