Ctenacanthoid shark named Wodnika sp. from the Permian age Marl Slate Formation (273-259 million years ago) of Durham, UK. At the time that this shark lived the environment would have been a shallow sea with oxygen poor sea bed allowing for the exceptional preservation of its skin, fin spines, teeth and even cartilaginous skeleton.

It was prepared by sticking a split specimen back together to give a more complete singluar specimen with more three dimensional relief. The preparation of the microscopic denticles was a particular challenge taking nearly 40 hours.
