This incredibly rare and very basal coelacanth lived during the Middle Devonian. It is one of the earliest members of this group, similar in form to the well known, but later Miguashaia. Taking over 300 hours to prepare, this specimen is near complete, including most of the head and preserving the fine detail of the teeth, scales and fin rays.
